This page explains how to request deletion of your account and associated data on JobSarathi, the app and website published by JobSarathi. It applies to both the JobSarathi Android app and jobsarathi.com, which share the same account.

1. How to Request Account Deletion

Send us a deletion request from the email address registered on your account:

Email admin@jobsarathi.com with the subject line “Delete My JobSarathi Account”.
Include your registered email address, your registered mobile number, and your full name so we can verify that the account is yours.
We verify the request and confirm by email. If we cannot verify ownership, we will ask you for additional confirmation before acting.
Once verified, your account is closed and you will receive a confirmation email.

You can also raise the request from the app: open Profile → Help & Support and ask our team to delete your account. We respond to deletion requests within 7 working days of receiving them.

2. What Happens When You Request Deletion

Your account is deactivated and sign-in is permanently disabled.
Your profile and resume are removed from search results and are no longer visible to employers, colleges, or partners.
Your job applications are withdrawn from consideration and we stop sending you job alerts, emails, and notifications.
Your account record is closed and moved out of the live platform, and is no longer used to provide any service to you.

Account closure cannot be undone. If you want to use JobSarathi again later, you will need to register a new account.

3. What Stops Being Used

From the moment your request is processed, the following data is taken out of active use — it is no longer shown to anyone, matched against jobs, or used to contact you:

Account and login details — name, email address, mobile number, password.
Profile data — profile photo, location, education, work experience, skills, and languages.
Uploaded documents — resumes, certificates, and any other files you uploaded.
Activity data — job applications, saved jobs, course enrolments and progress, and referrals you created.
Support messages and other communications you sent us that are linked to your account.

4. What We Retain After Closure, and Why

We do not erase your account record when you close it. It is retained in a closed, non-public state with restricted internal access, and is not used to contact you, shown to employers, or used to build a profile of you. We retain it to meet our legal and accounting obligations, to prevent fraud and repeat abuse of the platform, and to keep an accurate record of transactions and of applications already sent to employers.

Payment and invoice records — retained for at least 8 years, as required by Indian tax and accounting law.
Fraud, abuse, and security records — retained to prevent misuse of the platform and repeat abuse.
Records we must retain under a legal obligation — retained for as long as required by applicable law, or by an ongoing legal claim, dispute, or lawful request from an authority.
Your closed account and profile record — retained in the restricted state described above.

If you want specific personal data erased rather than closed, email us at admin@jobsarathi.com and we will review your request against the obligations above and tell you what we can erase.

Where an employer or a partner institution has already received your application, they hold their own copy of that data under their own retention policy. Please contact them directly to have their copy removed.

5. Removing Some Data Without Closing Your Account

If you do not want to close your account, you can edit or remove most of your data yourself from Profile → Edit Profile in the app or on the website — including your profile photo, resume, education, work experience, and saved jobs. You can also email us at admin@jobsarathi.com to ask us to remove specific data.
